How to Calculate Room Measurements
1. Floor Area
- Formula:
\text{Floor Area} = \text{Length} \times \text{Width} - Example:
For a room with a length of 12 ft and a width of 10 ft:
\text{Floor Area} = 12 \times 10 = 120 \, \text{sq ft}
2. Wall Area
- Formula:
\text{Wall Area} = 2 \times (\text{Length} + \text{Width}) \times \text{Height} - Example:
For a room 12 ft long, 10 ft wide, and 8 ft high:
\text{Wall Area} = 2 \times (12 + 10) \times 8 = 352 \, \text{sq ft}
3. Room Volume
- Formula:
\text{Volume} = \text{Length} \times \text{Width} \times \text{Height} - Example:
For a room with dimensions 12 ft x 10 ft x 8 ft:
\text{Volume} = 12 \times 10 \times 8 = 960 \, \text{cu ft}
